Lest we not forget that static electricity doesn't always "kill" an electronic
circuit. Sometimes it can cause unseen damage that may only show symptoms down
the road. And sometimes those symptoms can look a lot like software issues.
Since the combination of problems surrounding static electricity, ESD
(electro-static discharge), and electronic circuits can be so plentiful, it's
better to always take precaution when working around ESD sensitive electronics.
Same reason doctors wear rubber gloves.
