Amro, may sound strange this one, but I have just installed Skype on my Vista
laptop, and for the life of me can't remember how to check my Microphone is
working.
Can you please help?,
Billy

Hmmm. Not sure Terry I'm afraid. But you couldn't possibly have muted your
microphone from within the Skype menus? I think Skype used to have the push to
talk feature but not any more, is that true? So you can't have that feature
enabled... Sorry I couldn't be of any more help.
Cheers,
Amro

Hi
In the skype audio set up, I have the default option highlighted. The
other two options, are my on board conexant speakers and built in microphone, a
reference to total recorder.
In the audio set up in sounds and audio devices, in control panel, its
highlighted to use the conexant.
I've tried highlighting the conexant in skype, and tried highlighting the
default, neither work.

Well you might've done this already, but have you made sure it is your
microphone that is selected in the Skype Audio settings page? If you're using a
USB mic then it should show up as an Audio device along with your computer's
soundcard.

Hi Terry
Thanks for that, but I'd already tried it, but tried it again, without
success.
I've updated my sound drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled them, done
the same with skype, can't figure it out.
As I say, msn works.
Apart from what other applications I have installed, the only ones that
are specifically related to recording issues, are, Gold Wave, and total
recorder. I have things like winamp, media player, but they shouldn't play any
part in this.
Any other ideas?
Terry
