Carol, no one seems to know anymore than the posts on the board.
But there does seem to be something there.
I am still going to keep an eye on the posts. As Gene has already mentioned.
You must read all posts on the board about this subject, and then make up
your own mind,
Billy

So what does this virus do and how do you know whether your system has
been affected at all?
After all, Jaws crashes reasonably often ... but that doesn't mean it's
been hacked into!
Any further info than that shown on the first message at the URL provided
below would be useful.
Thanks.

Catherine, that was also my take on it, but I wouldn't dismiss it just
like that.
The people on the board were still worried about the threat.
Some of them were still having problems with this long after the time.
Many of them had to format their systems.
It is widely thought, that Tyler Spy is behind it.
He was recently barred from one of the mailing lists I am subscribed to
for doing similar things.
As I say, there is probably nothing to worry about, but who really knows,
Billy

Hi,
I didn't read all the responses, and maybe it's a hoax anyway, but from
what I read this virus was set to go off on 26 Dec and is only present
if you run a crack of JAWS8, so hopefully if I read it correctly most
people won't have a problem...
Catherine
