hi all

This all started with the laptop crashing.

I eventually was able to reformat the hard drive, by putting it in a caddy, and using my other pc to carry this out.

The hard drive is listed in the bios, but isn't seen when booting the laptop up using a floppy disk. i.e. after it boots up, and I type, c: it goes to c:, but it is in fact reading the cdrom. it will only let me access a: and c:, which as I said, is actually the cdrom.

I've looked in the bios, and there isn't anything obvious to say that it is disabled.

The hard drive is working, as I can see it in my computer, when I connect it to another pc.

When I try to boot the laptop up using a xp home edition cd, again nothing happens, because I guess it hasn't got anything to load on to.

Any ideas has to what I need to do?

Thanks for any help.

Terry
