Hi,
Actually, the only annoyance with voiceover, and I'm not sure if this holds
for the Symbian readers, is that you can't mute the voice and kill the
voiceover gestures at the same time so a sighted person could fully use the
phone without conflict with the voiceover gestures. You can kill voiceover
completely, but then you need to reactive at and you need sight to see the
'on' option in the little menu that appears.
I do think the ability to activate the speech via iTunes before the device
is even switched on is rather neat though. It makes it really handy for
those without sighted assistance who don't need to worry about installing
things or configuring access settings before they can get started.

Whereas that may be true, you?ve got to admit for accessibility with a touch
phone voiceover has the competition beat. I?ll verify this myself over the
next day or two, but having been in close touch with someone who?s tried
both major screen readers for Symbian, and voiceover for over a month, I
think he?s right.
