I've done a full reset and an upgrade on my iphone and I've never been asked for a pin on it.

Hi all, I just catch up this thread and want to point something out.On the iphone you can enable/disable voiceover from itunes, from your computer. Great stuff, but... but! In case of an iphone upgrade or restore, itunes does not want to know anything until you have entered your pin code on the iphone! Impossible to do without sighted assistance... It is one of the big reason I returned to Nokia, because in case of a reset I can set country/date:time on myself and reinstall a screenreader, without having to ask for someone to help... Independance is a priority for me. Maybe if apple do something to correct this I will reconsider. But since I plan some... Software experiments with my Iphone I cannot ask and ask and ask again to reenter my pin code for me to reennable voiceover...Or perhaps I missed something ? The next question is, can you enable voiceover again without signedassistance? If the answer to both is yes, then that's great to hear. But, we couldn'tget that to work with either the iPod Touch, iPhone or iPad. Well, I just received a note from Apple to say the iPhone is arrivingMonday. So I have the weekend to read up on it and get myself all excitedready for the courier to arrive. _______________________________________ Have a pleasant day, Kind Regards and Best Wishes, Hussein. I didn't realise that. I thought when you killed voiceover itdidn't actually close the app completely. But I'll know for myself tomorrowif my iPhone arrives. _______________________________________ Have a pleasant day, Kind Regards and Best Wishes, Hussein. You can killvoiceovercompletely, but then you need to reactive at and you need sight to seethe 'on' option in the little menu that appears. I do think the ability to activate the speech via iTunes before the device is even switched on is rather neat though. It makes it really handy for those without sighted assistance who don't need to worry about installing things or configuring access settings before they canget started._______________________________________ Have a pleasant day, Kind Regards and Best Wishes, Hussein. I'll verify this myself overthenext day or two, but having been in close touch with someone who's tried both major screen readers for Symbian, and voiceover for over a month, I think he's right.
