hi all, well it is now sorted. i actually got a better response from vodafone
by emailing them than i did on the phone! :). i got a link to the nokia website
from them which walks you through the settings you 'll need, and then sends you
the settings in a text message. the only downside at the minute is the company
hosting my domain name and email address isn't listed! so i'm having everything
forwarded to my ntlworld address while iam away. id' gone on vacation mode on
this list too, so if i don't reply, tahts why. man thakns for the advice given
however.

  Hi Kevin

I do know that when you set up your Email account using your own ISP on
Vodafone, you have to type
  send.vodafone.net
for the outgoing detail instead of your usual smtp.servername.whatever.

It might be worth your while checking that you have the relevant settings in
your phone from Vodafone so that you can use the correct access point. You can
download them from
  www.vodafone.co.uk
or ring Customer Services on 191 from your mobile and request they be sent.
Once they are, you simply save them and ensure the correct access point is
selected.

I hope that helps a bit.

hi all, i want to be able to access my email while i'm away from home next
week. i'm a PAYG custoemr with vodafone. are there specific settings i'll need
from my provider to connect? and will i have to ring them to get these details?
or they available on the net. although i presume they'll have to activate
something or other on my account. i can see how to set up the mailbox on the
phone etc, but i'm guessing there are connection settings i'll need from
vodafone. any help is appreciated. oh and it's not a vodafone email address,
it's the one i use everyday ( this one in fact)
