Hi Carol,
First, to get into number mode, just hold down the hash key for about
a second, and then you are in numbers mode.
Second, predictive text. Everyone should be using it, it is much
faster.
The idea is that you only type each character once, and the phone
guesses the text. If we take the word Chocolate for example, if you
do it with predictive turned off, then you have to type the
following, bearing in mind that to get C you have to press 2 three
times. So here is Chocolate without predictive.
"222446662226665552833". That is 21 keypresses. What a waste of
time and energy. Now, if you turn on predictive, you can type
Chocolate thus: "246265283". This reduces it down to 9 characters,
the same amount as the word itself.
If the word is not in there, you merely press the edit key twice, or
the Talks key if you like, then go down to predictive text, then
select Edit word. Now you can edit the word with no predictive text,
and once you enter it into the dictionary, it will be remembered when
you type that sequence of characters.
I hope this helps.
All the best
Steve

Yeah, whilst we're on that subject ... how do you switch to a series
of numbers in the middle of a text message and can anyone explain to
me again, please, about predictive text? I want to have another go
and see if I can master it this time!
Thanks.
Hi Sunil,
The Hash key... Bottom right.
