Most hard disk based TV recorders do not allow you to store programs on external drives. This goes for Sky and many cable boxes so it is not unusual or unique to this device. The provision of the hard drive allows you to time shift programs which is what the box will do very well I expect. Regards. But you have a rather huge harddrive 500 GB to store quite a lot if you wish. Also, do you know if it is possible to record from other sources, such as a video.
