Book?
Are you on drugs or something?

This is the first time a standard piece of technology has been at an equal price for both sighted and visually impaired people. I am very impressed. So much so that I ordered one earlier. The sample voice demonstration on the RNIB shop is very clear and apparently doesn't stutter.

Full marks to tvonics for this one!

Darren.

I have been using the Tvonics box for the past 3 weeks and absolutely love it. Pretty much every feature speaks apart from the BBC Iplayer. The box is of course upgradable so it may well be possible for Tvonics to make the Iplayer speak.

I really don't think this is a major downside as everything else on the box is accessible. The speech is smooth and responsive, you can add, delete and edit timers, You can series link tv/radio programs and much more. When fast forwarding and rewinding you have audio feedback as to how far you have moved through the program.

A couple of years ago it was looking as if an accessible PVR would be in the range of £500/600 but we have a box for almost a quarter of that figure.

I don't think anyone will be dissapointed by either the features or the performance of this box.

It's what we've been waiting for.

I am writing this from a personal standpoint rather than from an RNIB sales point of view.
