Hi Peter.

I'm sure you will get it sorted out in due time. Personally, I cannot understand why anyone would pay £300-£400 on a telephone, when mobile phones with voice tags are available. For example, Tini and Simon both have phones and Tini only need press a button and say "Simon" to get through to him. Pauline's phone has 26 voice tags, so if I needed a phone, then I'd probably check out the voice tag option firstly.

Best wishes.

Andy

Hi Andrew,
Yes, I'm following the thread. I have no idea what blue tooth is. though I
suspect its some kind of wireless connection. No doubt I'll be filled in on
what blue tooth is as the day goes by. Hope so anyway. Sandra has suggested
that I should have gotten a connection with the phone I purchased. When I
purchased the phone I did ask the girl if a cord came with it. There seemed
not to be one, but she could sell one to me. Strange now if Sandra is right
and a cord should have been provided with the phone. It certainly would save
messing around with blue tooth. I'm a little apprehensive about getting
started on new technology items such as blue tooth, so much reading to do,
and much of it hard to grasp. But no doubt in a year or so I'll wonder why I
was so worried about it.

Hi Peter.

I know nothing of mobile phone technology, but I note that a list member
advised you to purchase blue-tooth and suggested a company called Maplins.
I visit Maplins regularly in Glasgow. It's in St Enoch's Square, right
beside Argyll Street Sub station. Their telephone number Peter is 0141 248
572

So, regardless of that article in the RNIB's archives, there is no
connection cord supplied with talks? If this is the case, I'll really
need
to get one.

Thanks.

you may need to get a bluetooth dongle to do that.

You can get them from companies such as Belkin quite cheaply. Companies
like Amazon may be able to help and other places such as Maplins and
microwarehouse may help. I will have to dig around for websites for these
though if you want them because haven't got them all to hand.

Use bluetooth? What exactly do I do to achieve that. I have no hardware at
all.

How do you get the talks software into your cell phone? I didn't get a USB
cord with my Nokia 6260. Just a power cord and a set of earplugs with a
strange pin on the end.
