Hi Peter,
I don't know the details of your Nokia phone, but if it was able to use USB
then Nokia would have provided the required lead. I suspect that this model
gets its connectivity via Bluetooth or infrared. My 6600 used both of
these. but not USB. Infrared is slightly easier than bluetooth. It also
needs to have P.C. Suite loaded on you computer. This is one of the
programmes on your C.D. I find this programme to be a pig to use.
There is another way of loading Talks, not requiring USB or P.C. Suite, if
you have a card reader on your computer, but you will need sighted help.
Not much point in telling you more unless you can meet both of the above
requirements.

Hi George,
Yes, the girl at Nokia did suggest that I could buy a cord at an
additional
cost. At that time, though, I wasn't sure if I'd do it myself or ship the
phone down to Steve Nutt
Sounds like I'll be taking Graham's advice and making a trip to Maplins
in
the next few days.
Thanks to all.

Hi Peter,
Bluetooth is not exactly rocket science, and so a man of
your calibre, it should be a walk in the part.
As for telephones being supplied with connecting cables, in
my 10 years of experience, they have always been a
chargeable extra on top of the cost of the phone itself, but
then again, I've only ever had Nokia phones.
George.

Hi Andrew,
Yes, I'm following the thread. I have no idea what blue
tooth is. though I suspect its some kind of wireless
connection. No doubt I'll be filled in on what blue tooth is
as the day goes by. Hope so anyway. Sandra has suggested
that I should have gotten a connection with the phone I
purchased. When I purchased the phone I did ask the girl if
a cord came with it. There seemed not to be one, but she
could sell one to me. Strange now if Sandra is right and a
cord should have been provided with the phone. It certainly
would save messing around with blue tooth. I'm a little
apprehensive about getting started on new technology items
such as blue tooth, so much reading to do, and much of it
hard to grasp. But no doubt in a year or so I'll wonder why
I was so worried about it.

Hi Peter.
I know nothing of mobile phone technology, but I note that a
list member advised you to purchase blue-tooth and suggested
a company called Maplins.
I visit Maplins regularly in Glasgow. It's in St Enoch's

you may need to get a bluetooth dongle to do that.
You can get them from companies such as Belkin quite
cheaply. Companies
like Amazon may be able to help and other places such as
Maplins and
microwarehouse may help. I will have to dig around for
websites for these
though if you want them because haven't got them all to
