Hello Ibrahim Just one last thing. Are the keys easy to feel? i.e. is there some sort of raised edge around the four sides, or is it that there is a slight depression around the four sides. Thanks again. terry _____ From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ibrahim Gucukoglu Sent: 10 May 2011 16:21 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Samsung q330 information Hi Terry. Likewise, I was looking for a compromise between a laptop and a netbook, as netbook?s just weren?t living up to my needs and I?ve had a fare few of them in the past. The Q330 I?d say is a little lighter and certainly thinner and more compact than the Q330, its got a much sleeker casing to it making it more space efficient as well as bringing the weight down, though its still a 13.3 inch machine. I bought mine from www.box.co.uk which had it at around £450 I think and that was the 500GB model. All the best and good luck what ever you decide to get. Cheers, Ibrahim. I've seen it vary in price, e.g. ebay £400 - £650, and similar prices elsewhere. Some come with 500gb hard drive, and some with 320gig. Is it lighter than the Q310? I wanted to just have one main laptop, something in-between a lightweight net book, but with more power that you get with a normal decent spec laptop, and of course a good battery life. The Q330 seems to be somewhere just about there. Thanks for any feed back as always. terry j _____ From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Ibrahim Gucukoglu Sent: 10 May 2011 14:46 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Samsung q330 information Hi Terry. I recently upgraded from the Q310 to the Q330 and I have to say I think the upgrade is worth the money. The sound quality of the laptop is nothing to shout about, probably on a par with the machine you already have, the keyboard however is a different story. Everyone has a different opinion about the Q330?s keyboard it seems, your either gonna love it or hate it but I love mine. The keys are tiled, meaning that there is virtually no gap between them and better still, any gaps there are are neatly covered, so nothing can get in to the workings of the keyboard when your typing with dirty fingers. The Q330 has a Core I3 processor and DDR3 memory so its nice and speedy but because its a sub £500 machine, their has to be economy and so if your Q310 had the NVidia graphics, the Q330 will come with Intel?s standard HD graphics option, plus the display from what I gather isn?t top spec, not that that bothers me particularly. Battery life is about 5.5 hours on a single charge, and I myself carry a spare so I can go pretty much all day without a charge. A good all round machine if your looking for a pocket friendly portable with all the essentials. All the best, Ibrahim. I'm currently using the q310, and wanted to know if it was worth upgrading to the q330. Its not going to be any slower than the one I have which has jaws installed, but was more looking at the lay out of the keyboard, and especially the sound quality, and general feel of the machine. Thanks for any input if you have one of these machines. Terry
