Jackie,

I started using it recently with the N95 as someone mentioned it on list and it works almost all of the time for me.

Hi Barbara

When I've tried it on my N91, the Nokia voice I think it is comes
back with the person's name, and a colleague of mine told me the
name of the person and their number comes up on the screen. I've
just found it a bit hit or miss whether it dials though. Has anyone
else used this feature? It isn't my native method for accessing
contacts, but was thinking of a method that might be suitable to help
Tony with his query.

It works even better with some Bluettoth headsets and the good thing
about that is you don't even have to record the name into the phone,
so no need to speak exactly the same each time...Who does that?

Hi Tony

You can speak into your mobile though and say the name of the person
you want to call. Agreed it can be hit or miss, but I've had it
working just for fun.

device and the number comes bback instantaneously!

Mobile phone is not in this instance what I require!

Thanks

I don't think the RNIB do what your looking for actually. They do
sell voice recorders if that helps but none of the organisers. One
organiser that might interest you is called the TapMemo and Cobolt
Systems sell it for £89.99. I've pasted the info below.

This revolutionary hand held talking Organiser has just one easy to
use multi-function button, with two additional volume buttons.
Battery operated and using verbal commands the unit needs no special
user training. It functions as a phone book, short memo taker,
appointment calendar, and alarm clock. It will also speak the time
and date. Phone Book - Will accept up to 60 entries, each one can
store one phone number with a 7 second voice recording of additional
data, for example, a name or short address. Numbers can be dialled
automatically using the built in auto dialler. Appointment calendar
- Up to 30 appointments, each with a reminder and chronological play
back function. Memo taker - Up to 30 memos, each up to one minute
long. These can be recalled using a name tag. Other features include
a Unit locator/low battery warning/locking command/earphone/charging
jack and belt clip. It is powered by an internal rechargeable
Lithium battery. Fully charged in less than 4 hours it will give 10
working hours of power. Size 75mm - 2.9" (Dia) x 30mm - 1.2"
(Thick).

Hi All,

My Voicemate (Parrot) I would say is "about to givve up the ghost)
on me!

It was a great "little" product in the past for recording primarily
for me phone numbers which I could recall by it's flash memory at a
moment's delay!

Now anyone knowing that memo/recorder could you kindly let me know
if there is something very similar on the market priced reasonably
too which I could look in to possibly purchasing?

Thanks

Tony
