Thanks for your reply, your probably right about the text in the document being 
picture based. However, i don't have any ocr software at hand to see if that 
would convert it, so because it's not a critical document, i'll throw it in the 
re-cycle bin.

  Could it be a scanned image of a document containing text? If so, you could 
try putting it through an OCR engine if you have one.

  Vista and jaws 9.

   

  I have a downloaded pdf file that when adobe reader 8 finishes converting, 
will not open and I get the message empty document, although I'm sure there's 
text on the page which it says it as converted page 1 of 25. Can anyone help me 
to get this pdf file to open and try to explain why it's saying empty document.
