Hi Chris,It is not the Talks key on most phones any more, since the newer 3rd editionphones don't tend to have an edit key. In this case, it is the menu key that is the Talks key. All the best Steve -----Original Message-----From: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf OfChris Hallsworth Sent: Sunday 23 November 2008 15:33 To: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [access-uk] Re: Number entry on the N95 8GB The edit key is the Talks key on most phones. However, if you press it twice, it will open a special menu, only available in certain text fields, where you can manage your predictive text settings, switch to alpha/number mode, change the writing language, and, if a selection exists, cut or copythe selection onto the clipboard. If the clipboard contains text or numbers,a paste option will also be visible. So, as you can see, there's some flexibility when using the edit key. The edit key is also used for textselection. To do this, at the second press hold it down, use your arrow keys to select the text, press soft key 1 to copy it to the clipboard. To cut it,let go of the edit key, press it again twice, this time not holding it on the second press, then select cut from the menu. To paste your selection, press the edit key twice, again not holding it at the second press, and select paste from the menu. Hope this all helps. -- Chris Hallsworth e-mail: christopherhallsworth71@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx MSN: ch9675@xxxxxxxxxxx skype: chrishallsworth7266 klango: chrishallsworth----- Original Message ----- From: "Saqib" <saqib500@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, November 23, 2008 12:48 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Number entry on the N95 8GBHi Eleanor. I've got it working now thanks to your and Chris's advice. Bothmethods work. Can you tell me what else the edit key can do?----- Original Message ----- From: Eleanor BurkeTo: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, November 22, 2008 9:37 PM Subject: [access-uk] Re: Number entry on the N95 8GB Mine works fine with the latest firmware Eleanor----- Original Message ----- From: SaqibTo: access-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Saturday, November 22, 2008 9:12 PM Subject: [access-uk] Number entry on the N95 8GB Hi I have the latest firmware on my N95 8GB. When I'm filling in a form or writing a text message there doesn't seem to be an option to enter numbers directly. This option is usually under the hash key and there aremultiple of other options such as predictive text or standard lower case or all capitals. Normally the number entry option would be found here but theredoesn't appear to be such an option on my phone. Is this a firmware bug or has the number entry option been assigned to another key command. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- -- I am using the Free version of SPAMfighter We are a community of 5.6 million users fighting spam.
