I think was an old motorola phone. not sure as it has "Damon Hill" on it.
that gives you an idea of the age!

Subject: [access-uk] Mobile problem

Apologies for asking a question totally outside the scope of this
list, but I know that there are many very knowledgeable list members,
and I am out of my depth here.

My wife has a mobile which she bought many years ago- in the days of
BT Cellnet I think, although it is now O2. She tops it up at three
monthly intervals. The next top up is due later this month. Today
it has started giving an "Imsi failed" message when she switches it
on and she cannot make calls. When I try to contact her I get a
"Number not recognised"
message.

i have spent a long time on the O2 web site but I have made little
progress. I cannot even find a way of contacting O2 Customer
Service because when I enter the phone number in the appropriate edit
field, it is not accepted.

my wife intends to get anew phone in the near future, but does not
want to lose the cash already in the old one.

Any help would be very much appreciated,

Douglas
