No expert here but couldn't you take the drive out of it and may be try it in a caddy?

I'd actually take it to the shop and get them to fix it, by that i mean you need a local reputable computer repair shop.

Subject: [access-uk] Laptop Problems

Hi All

The wife has killed her laptop by dropping a cup of coffee over it. We have a replacement arriving in the morning courtesy of the insurance company. She does back-ups so most data is on the external drive but regrettably she put some photos of our grandchildren on a few days ago but hasn't done a back-up of them.

I've heard laptop hard drives are not very easy to extract and input so I need some other way to get the data out of it. She cannot fire the machine up at all so the mother board sounds fried to me. I assume this would mean something like a lap-link connection would not work. Does anyone have any other suggestions please.

Many thanks

Roger
