I guess the only real workaround is to actually control things from the
website which you can do.
I reported it as soon as it happens and so did others. I was told it would
be fixed in 48 hours or thereabouts: this was just after the update came
out: I'm still waiting!

An update for the Hive app came out a week or so ago
and I just got around to updating it. Sorry to say it is no longer possible
to change the heating tempreture as Voice Over can no longer adjust the
