There is a feature on the Gmail site which allows you to automatically BCc yourself in the setings. You could then filter that into the folder you keep the list messages in which would effectively automate the process of getting your own list message in with those of the replies to your post.

Peter, this is gmail's deliberate policy.  It's stated somewhere in their
help.  Nothing we can do about it, I'm afraid.
