Thank you for your information.  Are you saying the R-09 has time and date?
This was my beef about the R-01, it never had time and date, so all the
files were created at the same time, 12:00 p.m. on January 1 2005, or
something like that.

I am pleased to confirm that the claims made for ease of use from a VI
perspective is quite true.

Got mine this morning and, with sighted help accessed the menus and done the
relatively permanent settings such as time and date, recording format,
sampling rate, etc. and a few more.

Quality of recording, using the in-built microphones is very good.  Am using
a Bose noise reduction headphone.

When opening the SD card compartment/battery compartment, be careful not to
damage the unit.  It is a double stage operation and the lid seems rather
flimsy.
