Hi Saeed
I bought a 16GB memory card for mine and this suits me too as I don't want the
netbook for storing data on. and of course I have got my new Western Digital
drive Santa brought me. The book itself is extremely light and the keys being
so close together allows them to be quite large enough for anyone. I got a
great case for mine too, one of those leather book style cases in which you can
actually use the book.

Hi Barbara, it is good to hear that you have very similar experiences to me
in terms of the positive and enjoyable use of the Asus.
Like you, I have used my netbook with Jaws and window-eyes and both
screenreaders run very smoothly on the Asus.
I carry mine with me everywhere and it is a fantastic little machine.
I also bought an external Freecom harddisk and it meets my needs and works
with Asus fine.
Best wishes and a happy new year, Saeed

Hi Saeed
I've got Bluetooth sorted and paired it with my phone, so looks like it
will be easy enough with JAWS and not sighted assistance.
I know the Samsung NC10 has had a lot of following on this list, but I
always like to be different! Having read the spec I decided it wasn't for me
and wanted to go a bit smaller as I was dropping down from a 12 inch laptop, so
down to a 10 inch really wasn't that much. As it is I am very glad I decided to
go for an Asus. With 1GB of RAM and 12GB harddrive, you would be forgiven for
thinking it didn't pack much of a punch. But using it now for a few days with
both JAWS and Window Eyes, I have absolutely no complaints to make. It is
virtually silent even when the fan is running and the speed with only 1GB is
surprisingly fast, a lot faster than my 2GB laptop.
Can you tell I love my little Asus?

Hi Barbara, it is me with the Asus. For few weeks, I thought I was one
of the endangered species on the list as everyone seemed to opt for the NC10 so
I feel good to have another person with Asus EEE PC.
As far as the one I have, which is the EEE 1000H, there is no external
devices needed for the bluetooth as the bluetooth is already built-in.
You are right in terms of using the function key and f2 to toggle the
bluetooth and wireless on/off. However after switching the bluetooth on, you
will have to configure the bluetooth and pairing the netbook with any external
peripheral devices such as mobile phones etc.
If I can assist, please let me know.
Kind regards, Saeed

Subject: [access-uk] Bluetooth on my Asus
I have recently purchased an Asus Eee PC 901 Netbook. It is a fantastic
little device, but more on that later.
I have been trying to use the Bluetooth and while it says it has an
internal Bluetooth erial, when I try to open the Bluetooth software it is
telling me my Bluetooth device is not connected. Surely I don't need a dongle
when there is an internal Bluetooth erial? I know someone else on this list has
one of these netbooks, but can't remember who. I would be greatful for any help
offered.
