Il bello è che, mentre caricava da nastro, si vedevano anche le tipiche
bande di caricamento Spectrum. Era fortissimo :-).

A chi è interessato ho trovato questo su Internet (dall'autore):
I just thought you might be interested in learning a little more about the
Whitby Computers Spectrum Simulator. I am the original author of that
software, back in 1985 !
There was a complete annotated disassembly of the Spectrum ROMs available
as a book (all in Z80 of course), and I re-coded it all pretty much byte
for byte from Z80 to 6502. This meant even a couple of the Spectrum bugs
(sorry, I can't remember which any more) were present in the emulation. The
code was bigger in 6502 due to a less powerful instruction set, and often
it was hard to find enough machine registers to make the code, since again
the Z80 had more of those.
One of the features that I was most proud of at the time was the ability to
read and write tapes recorded in Spectrum format, even through the C64's
tape hardware. I think we had to invert the bits received and generally
hack around. Big smile when that started working.
Of course, we couldn't run Z80 machine code games on the 6502 (or at least,
we never really tried), so sales were good but not huge. Basic ran very
well, and as somebody said on this thread the Spectrum basic was pretty
good.
I've got to say, we never made this software public domain before now, but
right now I'm happy to officially hand this over to the public domain as
freeware.
