Are you using the current master branch? There was a fix pushed couple
of month ago that provided a workaround as there is a wxwidgets issue
that prevents Ctrl-Tab from working as expected (on OSX and Linux).

The workaround was for OSX only as the Windows version always worked
and continues to work and the Linux version was affected by an earlier
change and has been also recently fixed

There was also a recent enhancement to allow for custom shortcuts for
tab navigation: the default is Ctrl-PgUp/PgDn, but you can change it
to Alt-Right/Left if you want
