Lexington High School Students Organize “Bollywood Night” and
International Food Fair for South Asia Earthquake Relief

November 4, 2005, Lexington, MA: South Asia Club at Lexington High School
is organizing a “Bollywood Night” and International Food Fair tonight at
Lexington High School to raise funds for the devastating South Asian
Earthquake. The students contacted Lexington area Indian, Chinese, and
Italian restaurants for donations of food for the event. They also asked
the local banks to underwrite the costs of janitorial services for the
event so all proceeds raised from the fundraiser can go for earthquake
relief.


Funds raised from the event will be donated to the earthquake relief
efforts of the Association of Pakistani Physicians of New England (APPNE)
www.appne.org


The students invite all who want to contribute to the relief effort to
join them in the fun activities of “Bollywood Night” and International
Food Fair at the Lexington High School. Contributions to the relief effort
can also be made online at www.appne.org

Time: 6-10p.m.
Location: Lexington High School, Science Lecture Hall, Science Building
Event: Bollywood Night & International Food Fair, a fundraiser with a
featured Bollywood Film; Indian, Chinese, Italian food; musical
performances; henna tattooing
Cost: $5


“The 7.6 Richter earthquake in India/Pakistan has left 73,000 people dead
and many of the 2 million survivors are orphans, widows, and people who
are paralyzed or have lost arms and legs. We must all pitch in and help,”
said Kudret Usmani, co-President of the South Asia Club at Lexington High
School.
