Role:
Junior Operations Specialist role is a part of Global Energy
Management(GEM) Turkey Short Term Optimization & Operations team, which
itself forms a part of the European gas & power energy management
organization.
The primary mission of this role is day-to-day optimization of power
generation assets and ensure proper operational activities related to the
power and gas portfolio of GEM Turkey in Istanbul Office.
The responsibility includes operations associated with network grid,
storage facilities and transportation contracts, complying with prevailing
legislation day ahead and intraday optimization of power generation assets.
In addition to these operational activities, this role requires supporting
other departments which are related to operational activities namely
Portfolio Management, Trading and Back Office.

Responsabilities:
Optimization of both gas & power portfolios in day ahead, intraday and
ancillary services markets
Processing daily, monthly and yearly reconciliations of both power and gas
business
Forecasting the consumptions of the generation, direct power and gas
customers and optimizing imbalance positions to minimize the imbalance cost
Generation of data for monthly invoicing process
Following up gas & power markets and regulation changes related with
operational activities
Supporting system planning issues, capacity reservation activities and
signing necessary system contracts (transportation, distribution etc.)
Maintaining necessary internal processes and operating internal systems
Designing, writing and maintaining of internal operating procedures, user
guides, daily checklists and reports
Respect GEM compliance rules and risk policies
Cooperate and provide necessary information towards the different
departments with which you have to interact
Skills:
Analytical skills: Problem solving
Digital skills: Programming and coding is a plus
Excellent use of Microsoft Office tools especially in Excel
Ability to work in international environment
Team player
Strong work ethic, attention to details and risk awareness
Fluency in Turkish and English
Experience:
New graduate and senior student, preferred subjects: Engineering or
mathematics related background
Knowledge of energy market mechanisms in Turkey and Europe is a plus
