Responsibilities
Respecting the craft and the craftsman.
Supporting other Buy Buddy members always, without hesitation or without
reservations.
Developing and maintaining back-end applications as well as being open to
utilize multiple frameworks and languages.
Working closely with Product Manager, in order to ensure that backlog is
always groomed and estimated.
Assessing peer deliverables, providing feedback if required. Ensuring that
every release can be Buy Buddy branded.
Requirements
Strong sense of analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
+2 years back-end development experience.
Experience in one or more general purpose object oriented or functional
programming languages including ruby, elixir, Python, Go
Design Patterns and Unit Testing.
Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases, key-value stores
and search engines (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch etc.)
You have demonstrable experience on building large-scale web applications
and distributed systems.
You have a strong understanding of software engineering practices.
Basic understanding of front-end technologies such as JavaScript, HTML5 and
CSS3
Excellent attention to detail
Highly Effective time management and multitasking skills.
Proficiency in code versioning tools such as Git
Nice to have
You have strong knowledge on Functional Programming
Proficiency with elixir (Phoenix framework)
Experience in architecting, designing and implementing large scale systems
Proficiency in distributed systems and concurrent programming
Scripting skills e.g. Python, shell, etc.
Familiarity with Docker and/or Kubernetes
Working knowledge with Amazon Web Services , Google Cloud Platform,
Microsoft Azure and/or any other cloud computing service provider
Experience or willing to learn large scale stream processing technologies
Prior experience with SCRUM/Agile methodologies
Contributions to OpenSource projects
Passionate focus on CI/CD practices
English language skills.
Interest in building hardware.
