On Saturday, May 1, the Yellow Springs Havurah will host a contemporary musical Shabbat morning service. The service will be led by dynamic West Coast musician Bryan Zive. Bryan, who is currently an OSU student, has performed all over the US. His music blends traditional liturgy with modern original melodies. Bryan's main goal is to combine people's love for music and Judaism to form an incredible spiritual foundation. His music sets the mood for adults and children alike by merging traditional liturgy and modern music. His music has been described by many as similar to music written by James Taylor and the Dave Matthews Band. Bryan will be joined on guitar by Mori Rothman through out the service. Services will take place at Rockford Chapel, starting at 9:30 am (this is half an hour earlier than usual) and will be followed by a vegetarian potluck light lunch. Everyone is welcome to come and sing along! For more information call 767-7549.
