In 2011 I made a recording of a fun track called Wires.
Today I fired up the old project files and... it sounded different.
Just one of the sounds had lost its 'tail' which slightly spoilt the effect.
This is the Aooww sound, and it had me puzzled for quite some time. It's only
the fact that we'd been heavily involved in work on envelopes that gave me a
clue. Eventually I remembered that the envelope cutoff point was originally
-40dB, and responding to complaints about phantom sounds when this was set to
it's minimum I changed it to -60dB.
Looking through the changelog I found this was way back in V1.2.4. We weren't
recording dates in those days, so it was a bit of a trawl through the commits
to find the exact point. This was mid 2014. As this is the first time I've come
across this as a problem I'm certainly not going to do anything about it now...
And for that track? I simply changed the Addsynth Gobal sustain value to -40dB,
and all is sweetness and light :)
