*@Rudolf:* yes, thanks, I have looked at the education repository kept by
the Governance Team. It seems to me that except for a few, most of the
links there provide either general/introductory information, or content
aimed at school-level students or actors outside science/practice (private
sector, e.g.) to „start thinking about ES“… This is of course great and
useful :), but what I am proposing is slightly different. I envision
specific thematic workshops organized "by us and for us", where we teach
each other methods, tools, skills.

And thanks for the invitation to send proposals to the task force
„Training & Education“ . Please do consider my above mentioned proposal as
extensive to this task force. And as mentioned in my previous email, I am
definitely in to help organize/coordinate.

Before opening an online survey/shared doc to collect wishes/offers (which
I agree is a good next step), I suggest we wait for *@Giovanni* and maybe
other* @older members* to get in touch so we may benefit from their past
experience and ideas on how to carry this forward.

Since I am new, I am not familiar with the platforms that have been used
in the past for collaborative work (google docs/other clouds) so for me it
makes sense to wait for input from older members.

Hi Colleagues!

For some months now I have been a member of YESS and have noticed that we
host few educational events / trainings to share our knoweldge and support
each other in developing our skills. Upon surfing through the ESP webpage I
get the same impression. I am specifically thinking about teaching each
other practical skills and methods: remote sensing, mapping, footprinting,
modelling, statistics, specific softwares, etc. (Since I am relatively new
in the network, maybe I am overseeing something, please do let me know if
this is the case and we actually have loads of peer-to-peer educational
events that I overlooked;).

I have the feeling that I am not the only one who would be interested in
such training events… I wonder if any of you would be willing to volunteer
your time and knowledge for (online?)trainings for fellow yessers? Some of
us could offer teaching and others could offer time for coordinating and
organizing… I would definitely be in for helping out in the coordination.
