Dear all,
It is my pleasure to share two vacancies for an Assistant Professor position at
my institute, the Institute of Environmental Sciences @ Leiden University. For
both positions we are looking initially for people who are not afraid to teach,
have plenty teaching experience and, in addition to that, have a research
profile that is complementary to the rest of the institute. This effectively
means a teaching load of over 60% of your working time, for the first couple of
years. However, if the new transdisciplinary Master programme 'Governance of
Sustainability<https://www.universiteitleiden.nl/en/education/study-programmes/master/governance-of-sustainability>'
really gets going, there will be a very realistic opportunity to reduce the
teaching load and focus more on the research component too. In addition, we are
looking for a natural scientist, as the social scientists needed for the MSc
programme would be working for a different faculty.
You will see that the first vacancy is quite broad, and this is probably the
most interesting for you:

.
The second vacancy is more directed towards aquatic ecology, water management
and hydrology:

I hope to have made myself clear enough. If not, then please feel free to ask
me any further questions for clarification.
All the best,
Alexander
