It has been almost a month since our first blog post in Nature Words

gave a great introduction to what is the Intergovernmental Science-Policy
Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES). The platform is
still relatively young, but as put by Carla has forced people to take a
serious look at our reality regarding natural resources and biodiversity.

and portrayed what it was like to be there at the plenary and see
first-hand the challenges and accomplishments of such a large event.
Another IPBES delegation member to write in Nature Words was Thuận Sarzynski

In his piece, Thuận talked about biodiversity and how more than a hundred
governments around the world have decided that we should conduct a global
assessment on this issue.
Finally, the last post of the month was written by myself

and was about the younger sibling of biodiversity: geodiversity. Our
planet's amazing diversity of soils, rocks, mineral and geologic forms in
general is responsible for a huge array of ecosystem services. However, the
term is only now gaining some attention and still has a long way to go.
Writing in Nature Words is a great way to promote science, practice your
communication skills, and engage with different audiences! Thank you to all
who have collaborated so far!
