This bird had me puzzled until I went to Sibley's and found it with
"Sparrowlike Birds". Red-wings nest on our pond/swamp every year but I
usually just see and hear the male. Later in the season, I'll see the
female darting in and out of the marsh plants when feeding young. Guess
I've never seen her eating seeds on the ground with quail and jays before.
