In which menu is it "m" ?

For a linedef type ?

Is that a standard GUI practice ? I don't think I've ever seen a
menu that had "hidden" bindings like this.

The "Other" item is always the last one, so there is a context-
insensitve way to get there ([ret] [ret] [down] [ret] [up] [ret]).

The order of the items in the linedef type groups menu could be
changed so that "Other" is always at the top. That would save you
one keystroke ([ret] [ret] [down] [ret] [ret]). But it would
disturb everyone else who has memorised [k] or [up] [ret].
