I will be going in my BARN capacity to represent our members in Bromsgrove and

am not clear how appropriate it is given that the VCS, as far as I'm aware, has
had no role in shaping the budget.

Hi Michael
Would it be worth agreeing amongst ourselves who is going. Some may have to in
their main roles and I guess we are all more or less interested, while some may
have very relevant expertise or be well experienced at such sessions. That
said I don’t think we should all be going but should all probably be ready to
support any that do.
Regards
Derek

Dear Colleagues
This message was sent to some but not all of those on the reference group list.
I'm therefore forwarding to ensure that nobody gets left out.
I'm also attaching the invitation letter for the 19th - with a reply slip.
Please contact Hannah directly (copy to me / the list) if you would be willing
to co-present with WCC or have any ideas of something to add to that wider
audience.
Best wishes
Michael

Hi Colleagues,
I hope you're all well and have had a happy and healthy Christmas.
When we met on the 15th December we mentioned working more collaboratively with
the VCS around the Council's budget consultation in order to make it as
meaningful as possible to the VCS. We have a session booked for the VCS and
Parish Councils on the 19th January and at present it will follow the usual
budget report format and cover the following areas:-
1. Key Budget Headlines
2. The County Council’s starting point for financial planning
3. How a) Expenditure and b) Income projections developed
4. The indicative funding gap
5. Plans to address the indicative funding gap
6. The proposed draft Medium Term Financial Plan
7. Local Government Finance Settlement update & Next Steps
We discussed the potential of co-presenting the session with VCS colleagues.
Would any of you want to volunteer to do this? Also – is there anything
specific you think we need to cover at the session on the 19th.
Any feedback would be gratefully received ☺
Thanks in advance
Hannah
