Subject: [wv-ref-group] Adults Safeguarding - Referrals Task Group
Dear Colleagues,
At the recent Safeguarding Adults Board meeting the board agreed to set up a
Task Group to look at referrals from the VCS. In addition to VCS members this
group will include colleagues from the key public sector partners including the
Adult Safeguarding Manager.
The board heard that in a number of cases colleagues from the VCS would
identify situations where they had safeguarding concerns which were rejected
when an alert was raised. Although the examples presented to the board related
to the adult safeguarding team it was recognised that similar issues may also
apply to health referrals too. This is an important piece of work for the
board; the group will start by 'scoping' out the issues before discussing
potential solutions.
I'm keen that we get a good cross sector of experiences from across the sector
to ensure we get the most informed discussions. Please let me know if you (or
one of your colleagues) would be interested in joining the group. Please pass
this on to any colleagues who might be able to contribute.
If you could let me know by Monday 9th July that would be helpful so that we
can progress this work. I will then pass on your contact details to Bridget
Brickley, the Board Manager, who will arrange the first meeting of the group.
Best wishes
Michael
