This is a good reason to NEVER agree to a group mailbox on your block.

Subject: [wunatucson] UPDATE ON NEW MAILBOXES
Hi neighbors,
I went to the Silverbell Post office today and for those who have suddenly
found themselves with new mailbox stations on their blocks, this is what I
learned:
1. No one will get new keys until the boxes are labeled on the inside and then
a sign will be placed on the box instructing us to go to the Silverbell post
office to get our keys.
2. There is no anticipated completion date of this project.
3. Mail is being returned to the Silverbell post office and bundled by date,
not individual address. You can go into the P.O. and they will go through the
bundles of mail looking for yours but won't guarantee you're getting everything
that was mailed to you.
4. As it was described to my neighbor and I who were coincidentally in line
behind one another, "there's just bins of mail for your block/station, and it's
completely piled up and disorganized."
If you're expecting important mail, I'd go daily if you have that luxury.
