Hello Again,
Upon reading my original E-Mail of Sunday, December 9th, 2018, I spotted a
mistake on my part and want to correct it as it is crucial to describing which
side of the WCD Crosswalk the Lady was on when she started walking across when
she saw the illuminated White walking Pedestrian on the opposite side of the
Crosswalk.
In the second paragraph, the sentence reads: " Not very much time passed when
she started walking across the TWO EAST bound Lanes of WCD ...
The sentence should read: " Not very much time passed when she started walking
across the TWO WEST bound Lanes of WCD ...
Thank You,Dennis Marrotte

Subject: [wsmac] Fwd: Crosswalk Incident at WCD & Hannafords
Hello Everyone and Happy 4th !
I came across this E-Mail to wsmac members from Sunday, December 9th, 2018.
Also sent a Photo to Eric Dudley and Doug Eaton of Public Services, of the new
Westbound crosswalk dual flashing Strobe Lights at the Main Street side of the
relocated Crosswalk for Main at Stroudwater Streets which is partly obscured by
fully leafed out tree limbs. I noted that the property line needs to be checked
as to who the trees belong to. Only a few lower limbs need to be trimmed or
cut.
One more POSITIVE GOOD NEWS FLASH ! Driving or walking up Cumberland Street
from the Webster Street intersection to the top of the hill on Cumberland - the
old crumbling and rough Sidewalk on the W side is being ALL REBUILT - NEW BASE
AND NEW ASPHALT AND NEW CURB - A Christmas Present in July !
Dennis

Subject: [wsmac] Crosswalk Incident at WCD & Hannafords
Hello, I just reported a Crosswalk and Pedestrian Incident @ WCD and the
Crosswalk for Hannaford's Exit Lanes. I used our Website Form. No one was
injured or fell down but the woman Pedestrian was pushing a 4 Wheeled Carriage
with a young Child in the front. She was on the Main Street side of WCD, on the
Sidewalk. I was first in line in the L/ H Left turning Exit Lane with The Exit
Lanes on a Red Light. I had the feeling she was going to activate the
Crosswalk Pushbutton to walk across, and she did so. East and West Traffic on
WCD was stopped. Not very much time passed when she started walking across the
Two East bound WCD Lanes, when The 2 Left turning Exit Lanes from Hannaford got
a GREEN LIGHT. I did not move. Two Vehicles to my Right in the other Left
turning Exit Lane started going out. The first one then saw the Woman and
Carriage in the middle of the two Westbound WCD Lanes and stopped as the woman
also stopped. That Driver then Passed in front of the Pedestrian. At the same
time, the 2nd Vehicle's Driver came out and swung past and Behind the
Pedestrian, who turned to look Left at that Driver and Vehicle. I was still
stopped waiting for the Pedestrian with her carriage and child to reach the
Median Cut on WCD, when The Driver behind me Activated their vehicle 's Horn
....No one was injured or fell, but , I firmly believe that No Proactive Action
or Steps will be taken at this Intersection to STOP ALL TRAFFIC, INCLUDING THE
2 EXITING LEFT TURNING LANES FROM HANNAFORD until there is a Fatality/ ies or
Disabling Injuries to a Pedestrian. Dennis Marrotte
