In the photo, I am seated in my F 150 PU, backed into a parking slot, with
TD Bank behind me, and B of A, across the Parking Lot in front of me. You
are looking towards Main Street, Westbound, at 2:45PM Friday, August 3rd.
I had locked my truck and was just starting to walk across, when a driver
to my left, started backing out of her parking space, and a white car was
trying to exit the Parking Lot and was stopped behind the car backing out.
I shouted at the driver to STOP !- luckily, her driver window was opened,
otherwise, she would have backed right into the drivers side door of the
car trying to leave.
As I then started walking across the Lot, to B of A, a large Black GMC
Pickup glee into The Parking Lot from Main Street, and whipped around
behind me and to my right.
Word needs to go out in no Uncertain &$!/^* Terms from WPD and the City of
Westbrook for citizens and visitors alike to SLOW DOWN when using our
public Parking Lots, for business or pleasure, before someone is seriously
or fatally injured.
One more suggestion: I try to back into a Parking Space, so I can see in
front of me when leaving.
