Now, for something completely different and unrelated: Westbrook-Warren
Congregational Church, where my wife Mary and I sing in the choir, is
holding our annual "Spring Fling" Choir Dinner on Saturday, May 6, at 6:00
PM. This raises money for our music program, and also includes a raffle to
raise money to send our kids to summer camp. We serve you dinner, then we
present a musical program for you! This year's theme is Seasons, songs
about seasons and months. In addition to songs with the whole group, I will
be accompanying Mary on piano for the jazz classic "Spring Can Really Hang
You Up The Most".
Tickets are $12, and you are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to reserve in advance by
emailing John Spearen at spearen.john@xxxxxxxxxxxx, or by text
207-329-4742. Let him know the number in your party, each person's
preference of chicken or fish for the entree (along with rice pilaf and a
green vegetable), and if you have any special dietary needs. Please reserve
ASAP. (They were supposed to be by today, but I'm sure he'll take some on
Monday or Tuesday. You can tell him I only told you about it tonight.)
