Here are the details about the ordinance. First, note that our new
website at http://westbrooksafemobility.org/ has a link to the Westbrook
Code of Ordinances on the Resources page (Laws section). Searching the
ordinance document for the word "plow", I found this in Chapter 29,
"Streets and Sidewalks":
*Sec. 29-5. Removal of snow from private property to streets or sidewalks;
penalty. *
No person shall lay, throw, place or plow or cause to be laid, thrown,
placed or plowed, on or into any public street or public sidewalk, any snow
or ice from private property. Any person or firm found in violation of this
section shall be subject to the penalty provisions of Sec. 1-8 of this Code
According to Section 1-8 further up in the document, the fine for any
violation that does not specify its own fine, is "not more than $250 plus
costs". Also, each day of violation constitutes a separate violation.
So if you see this, report it, and spread the word!

I had stopped to refuel my F - 150 across the street at Friendly's
Service Station and watched a Man, in an Orange Jacket ( a Bright Color !
) walking West with a white cane, from the Horseshoe Driveway towards the
new MD Quick Medical Center, in the Street, with the Sidewalk blocked and
two vehicles parked parallel in front of Profenno's. Signs say 1Hour
Parking. Traffic was pretty heavy at 5:30 Thursday when I watched the man,
cars entering and exiting to/ from Profenno, MD Quick and probably also for
Last Landing.
I had asked Paul Profenno several weeks ago when the Sidewalk was blocked
and he said that was done by whoever plows the Horseshoe Driveway for the
Redemption Store.
