I'm pretty confident I had a 3rd cycle Slaty-backed gull today on the KK river
looking from south Water st. The mantle really stood out among the Herrings and
was a much deeper bluish-gray hue. This gull looked bulky and heavy chested,
large billed and the legs were a cool deep bubble gum pink. The mantle and leg
color were darker than the photos. There was moderate streaking around the hind
neck and heavy smudging around the eye. Unfortunately, I got only a split
second view of the bird in flight.

Also present this afternoon around 3:30 were Kumlien's, Thayer's, Lesser and
Greater black-Backed and one WW Scoter.

I uploaded a 5 pics----
-again, mantle was darker than it appears in the photos.
