To all of those who think I made a typo, I truly saw a Brown Pelican at Horicon Marsh this afternoon. I saw it flying overhead about 50-60' up. The undersides of the wings were completely greyish-brown, it had a greyish beak and a pale head. I saw it for a few moments before losing it in the tree-line between the parking lot and the marsh at the entrance to the boardwalk from the auto-loop. When I went with a Birds of Wisconsin class in 2004 (?) we also spotted a couple Brown Pelicans, so I think they do show up from time to time.
