After having observed the white tailed kite with Brain and Becky and swinging by the Ross' Goose, I headed by the kite once more on Apache. The Kite had taken flight circling the area S of Apache to be joined by a Merlin that had just before been sitting on a snag along the road, in the same circling pattern. Both circled away westward (at around 12:15). Thank goodness for our inability to predict the weather because it ended up being a beautiful day out there despite the dire predictions. We were also joined by a birder that had a flock of prairie chickens in the field north of Apache at around 7AM today.
