On the way back from the WSO convention in Sturgeon Bay, I stopped at Kewaunee. Rather quiet until walking back to my vehicle by the harbor/impoundment. I heard what I thought was a Western Kingbird, which it was. Location was just at the beginning of the impoundment in the trees. Other lake front stops proved rather quiet thru Manitowoc. I made a brief run to Horicon marsh and found basically what everyone else has already posted for today. I thought I had one of the Eared Grebes, waaaay back on the pond east of the pumphouse. It disappeared rather quickly however. The shorebirds were rather restless, as they frequently would all take flight, cruising around for a while before relanding---of course mainly way out. The convention proved to be another great one. Excellent birds, company and weather (except for the bus trip along Lake Michigan on Friday, sorry Tom and Scott). The rain mainly did not get north of Sturgeon Bay. I think the convention total bird list was around 195, before today's trips!!
