Sunday, April 27, 2014 - Waukesha County - State of WI - Hunter's Parking lot - Scuppernong Prairie on County Hwy N just south of Wilton Road - the woodcock are still there performing. 43F - Wind - Variable shifting with storm passing through. Drizzle to steady rain. It wasn't until 8:03PM that the Woodcock starting peenting and dancing! There were at least 3 on the east side of road across from lot, but when they flew they'd pass over head. Snipe calling there too. From there we went to Ottawa Lake / Scuppernong Springs trail Parking lot and there were two peenting and flying as well. This was at 8:20PM. It was a drizzling experience, but first for fellow birder Dennis to see them dance!
