I got out to bird along the Menomonee River Parkway in Wauwatosa, Milwaukee
County, when the rain showers ended and before the storm rolled in, so from
3 - 5 pm.
There were so many warblers flitting around and feeding in the treetops, I
couldn't get my binoculars on all of them. Very few warblers were singing
but the orioles and a rose-breasted grosbeak provided a nice soundtrack.
*Warblers*: Blackburnian, Black-and-white, Black-throated green,
Chestnut-sided, Common Yellowthroat, Magnolia, Nashville, Palm (only 1)
Northern Parula, Redstart, Tennessee, Yellow, Yellow-rumped (only 1).
There may have been a Blackpoll and Wilson's but I couldn't get good looks
at them.
My eBird checklist is attached. The counts of chestnut-sided, magnolias
and nashvilles are probably low. There was so much activity it was hard to
know if I was seeing the same birds repeatedly or not.
Wishing you good birding,
