The flooded fields southwest of Sheboygan Falls are holding good numbers of
swans - 100+ this morning. These are mostly tundras but I believe there were
also a few trumpeters, and for sure one mute. These birds were already
moving around, with a few small folks taking off for parts unknown. There
are also Canadas and a smattering of ducks - mostly mallards but a few each
of redheads and wigeons. Also gulls and some horned larks.
These fields are in the northwest corner of County Hwys I/N. One way to get
there is to take State Hwy 28 1.25 miles west from the intersection of Hwys
28/32. Turn left on Brusse Road and follow this down to Cty I and look to
your right. Currently the Brusse Road road sign off of 28 is missing.
