Today I walked Seminary woods seeing many migrants moving through. My main
question is,
upon seeing 2 hawks in what appeared a courtship flight, I wondered, Do any
hawks other
than Northern Harriers have the white rump feathers? These 2 did although I
thought it a
bit odd to see them above the soccer field east of the Cousin's Center. Also
seen were:
Brown Creeper, 1, Great Horned Owls, 2, Hermit Thrush, several, Fox Sparrow,
several,
Eastern Phoebe, 1, Turkey Vulture, 1, Yellow-rumped Warbler, 2, Yellow-bellied
Sapsucker,
several, Wood Ducks, 3, Dark-eyed Juncos, several, and all of the more common
woodland
birds.
