Hi
Yesterday Madison Audubon Society volunteers erected a wildlife viewing blind
at the end of Harvey Road at Schoenburg's Marsh. Four volunteers worked hard
to roll the blind half way to the blind location and were very glad to see a
young, strong, Wildlife Ecology grad student walk down the lane and assist with
erecting the blind.

Schoenburg Marsh is a Fish and Wildlife Service Waterfowl Production Area about
three miles northeast of Goose Pond. Fish and Wildlife Service owns 700
acres, Madison Audubon Society owns 60 acres, and Pheasants Forever recently
purchased 22 acres.

Fish and Wildlife Service has a parking area on Priem Road and a paved trail
for .25 mile that leads to an overlook. The blind was erected at the curve
where Harvey Road was removed. To access the blind, park in the Audubon
parking lot and go north past the gate for about 300 yards. Half of the road
bed remains except for the last 100 yards to the blind. You do not need boots
to reach the blind. You will find three chairs in the blind. We would
appreciate some photos taken from the blind.

Good birding.
